Ladies & Gentleman, the picture above represents the failed release of LL Cool J's latest album, Exit 13. Mr. Cool J sold 43,762 albums in his first week out. Now I have a lot of respect for LL...
He's a great performer and has put in a lot of work to still be somewhat relevant 13 albums later. BUT this kind of news should really make him think lonnnng and hard about hangin up the Mic.
Unfortunately, I believe he has put a lot of time and effort in trying to cater to a younger demographic instead of evolving with his core audience. His biggest fans are ladies, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. And the ladies wanna hear some "Loungin", "Doin It", and "Luv U Better" type records, NONE of which appear on Exit 13.
LL must either go back to the drawing board and get back to basics, or after 13 albums, EXIT...
